Alderley Edge Mines
Mining has been going on at Alderley Edge since pre-historic times, in fact for over 4,000 years. Copper, lead, cobalt, iron and silver have all been mined here. Today you can go underground and visit these mines on a guided tour on one of the Derbyshire Caving Club's Open Days.
